Lost Lake ? Really, the
lake is lost? Well, not actually but I
suppose at one time if was very hidden since it is quite a drive from Hood River
and a continual climb along a fairly narrow windy road.
While the campground has some space for 40 foot motorhomes, I’m not sure I would want to drive our RV up that long and windy narrow road.

The Lake is fed by three creeks and maintains a consistent
level via an outlet at the north tip. It
is the second deepest lake in the Mount Hood
National Forest and the most
photographed in Oregon .
Lost Lake Resort includes a campground, Lodge, boat rentals and ramps and extensive picnic sites along theLake
with trails from the parking lots to the tables.
Interspersed along the way are benches for just sitting and enjoying the breathtaking views of Mt Hood and people enjoying the water in row boats, paddle boats, kayaks and canoes. Not motorboats here.

On our return,
we stopped at two different local fruit stands where we purchased Bing cherries
and blueberries. The cherries were huge,
the biggest I’ve ever purchased, and delicious.
Once back at the RV I made a Blueberry Crisp which we will enjoy for
dessert for the next couple of days.
Nothing like local grown, fresh fruits and vegetables. That’s what I like about traveling back
roads in the areas we visit.
