Today we travel out of Grangeville about 9 miles to Lynn and
Rick’s home atop a mountain. Lynn is Tom and Claire’s oldest
daughter. Their home sits atop a 15 foot
high 4 bay garage with many, many steps up to the home which overlooks a valley
on one side and a close hill on the other.
There are decks on two sides.
What beautiful views. The home is mountain rustic in décor.
We had our family picnic lunch in the garage overlooking the
valley below while enjoying the many deer who wondered close by. What fun it was to get to know more of my
Mother’s side of the family. I had only
met Claire and Tom’s children once or twice many, many years ago when all of us
were young though have seen Claire and Tom numerous times over the years, even
having them visit us in Albuquerque .

Happy 4th of July! We
moved our RV today from White Bird to Grangeville. Ron said he was able to drive up the steep
mountain road at around 50 miles per hour with the speed limit being 60 – 65
miles per hour. Pretty darn good. After setting up in our new location we took
care of housekeeping chores for the remainder of the day.
Drove into town to see the local fireworks viewing them from
our car as it had turned very chilly to be sitting outside. Guess we are warm weather people.
