Yesterday afternoon I went shopping with my daughter-in-law Lisa and two granddaughters, Ariana (14) and Sarah (10). Because my son and family live here in Virginia and Ron and I have been in New Mexico, I have not had the pleasure of taking the girls to shop but rather have just sent them checks for birthdays and other special occasions. This time; however, I was able to go with them and enjoy watching them pick out clothes and other items. What fun! I had forgotten what it was like to shop with a teenager and preteen.
Today we picked up Ariana and Sarah to come to the RV to play games, but on the way we took a detour to the local frozen custard shop. Their Mom may find that Sarah has no appetite for dinner around 6 since our stop was at 3 p.m.and she couldn't finish her treat, being too full. Well, isn't that what grandparents are supposed to do? The original plan had been to go swimming in the campground pool but overcast skies and threat of rain put a damper on that so the girls and I enjoyed playing Chicken Foot which they really enjoy, especially Sarah who likes to trip up her Grandmother. Papa Ron could not participate as we had a mobile repairman here to try to find our elusive leak in the roof. This is now the third attempt to entirely stop the leak. Hopefully, it is found so we can be dry when the next major downpour occurs.
We are really enjoying our time with my son and family since we have seen very little of them since they moved here to Virginia 8 years ago. Until this year, we have not had the freedom to travel out here for an extended visit. The girls have grown so much and it will not be long before they are out on their own. Wow! Where do the years go.
